Engine
- Retarder: Retarder
A retarder is a device used to augment or replace some of the functions of primary friction-based braking systems, usually on heavy vehicles. Retarders serve to slow vehicles, or maintain a steady speed while traveling down a hill, and help prevent the vehicle from "running away" by accelerating down the hill.

Interior
- Navigation system
A navigation system is part of the automobile controls or a third party add-on used to find direction in an automobile. It typically uses a satellite navigation device to get its position data which is then correlated to a position on a road. When directions are needed routing can be calculated. On the fly traffic information can be used to adjust the route.
- Parking heater
With a parking heater it's possible to heat the cabin even when the engine is not running.
- Stationary airco
A stationary air conditioner also works when the engine of the vehicle is not running, for example when you are parked.
- Tachograph: digital
A tachograph is a device fitted to a vehicle that automatically records its speed and distance, together with the driver's activity selected from a choice of modes. The drive mode is activated automatically when the vehicle is in motion, and modern tachograph heads usually default to the other work mode upon coming to rest. The rest and availability modes can be manually selected by the driver whilst stationary.
- Air-suspended seat
With an air-suspended seat the driver enjoys more comfort as the seat is not fixed directly to the cabin, with the air suspension in between bumps of the road are not direclty transferred to the driver.

Forward collision warning is also known as a precrash system, forward collision warning system, or collision mitigating system. It uses radar (all-weather) and sometimes laser (LIDAR) and camera (employing image recognition) to detect an imminent crash.
